Hypnotherapy supervision offers a supportive and reflective space for qualified practitioners and trainees to explore their client work, deepen professional insight, and uphold ethical standards. Through confidential discussion and guidance, supervision encourages growth, accountability, and continued learning. Hypnotherapy Supervision can benefit you whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced hypnotherapist, regular supervision is a valuable resource for maintaining clarity, enhancing your practice, and aligning with the highest standards of professional care. Supervision also offers an opportunity to reconnect with your purpose, process complex cases, and receive encouragement on your therapeutic path.
Are you newly qualified and looking for Support and Guidance? I am registered with the GHR as a qualified Supervisor and would love to support you whilst you navigate working with clients and growing your business. The GHR suggest that new Hypnotherapists undergo supervision. The information below has been taken directly from their website.
Newly qualified Registrants are expected to engage in this beneficial process for a minimum of 2 hours in any 3 months during their first 2 years of practice. Thereafter, although ongoing supervision is encouraged, it becomes a voluntary process. Whichever method is employed, Registrants are advised to maintain a personal log of all such activity as they may be asked to provide suitable evidence of the previous 12 month’s participation at the time of their annual re-registration. To facilitate this you may download samples of the approved One to One Supervision Record Slip (which may also be used for Group Supervision) and Peer Support Group Record Slip.
A list of qualified supervisors can be sourced from the GHR website.
You can learn more about recommended supervision standards and guidance via the General Hypnotherapy Register’s supervision resource.
The National Council for Hypnotherapy also outlines the importance of regular supervision as part of professional development and ethical practice.
